Many miles of walking and biking trails through town along the Red Lake and Thief Rivers. Passes by nine city parks, three forest trails, the dam, and historical sites such as the Soo Line Railroad Depot. Maps are available at the Chamber of Commerce and the Parks and Recreation Department.

Agassiz Recreation Trail (A.R.T.)

32 mi. trail from Ulen, MN through Syre, Twin Valley and Gary to Fertile • 218-584-5169

The trail consists of two 10 foot wide treadways for snowmobiling, hiking, biking, bird watching, horseback riding, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and dog sledding. Also open to ATVs. Camping is available in Ulen and Twin Valley.

Greenwood Park & Recreation Area

Thief River Falls, Located on the east side of the Red Lake River on Greenwood St. • 218-681-2519

Natural trails, cross-country skiing and an environmental learning lab.
